Restaurateur José Andrés is a household name in Washington DC due to his celebrated dining establishments. Now, he is partnering with Thor Equities to venture into the hospitality industry with the Bazaar House, a 67-room luxury hotel.

Located on the main thoroughfare of Georgetown, 3000 M St NW has long been due for redevelopment, since the shuttering of the Latham Hotel in 2012. Thor Equities, a New York based real estate firm purchased the building in 2015 for $53.35M and began demolition work soon after. However work eventually stalled and the lot has sat relatively unchanged for several years.

The latest proposal would include 67 rooms, and multiple José Andrés-curated food and beverage options. Other features include an event space, wellness center, retail, and a membership club located on the penthouse level called the Bazaar Club.
